Jingold starts marketing the first 200 tons of Spanish-origin yellow-flesh Jintao kiwis

Jingold's expansion in Spain is entering a new phase. The Italian company, a global leader in kiwi with the broadest range of varieties on the market, has begun selling its first 200 tons of Spanish yellow-flesh Jintao kiwis. This strategic move, though still relatively unfamiliar to many operators in the Iberian market, signals the start of a more organized and recognizable local presence.

The yellow-flesh Jintao variety, exclusively licensed worldwide by Jingold, is renowned globally for its sweet, golden flesh and well-balanced, pleasing flavor that appeals to a broad range of tastes.

The local production of Jintao, carried out in partnership with carefully selected agricultural partners in ideal regions of the Iberian Peninsula, marks an important milestone: it offers Spanish retailers a product that is closer to the market, has a long shelf life, and maintains high quality, all in perfect harmony with the Jingold brand.

Soon, an additional 1,500 tons of yellow kiwis from Portugal will be available, targeting the Iberian Peninsula and the broader European market. This will complement Jingold's well-established supply of yellow, red, and green kiwis from Italy and Greece, which have helped build the brand's reputation among Spanish retailers over the years.

The expansion project goes beyond yellow kiwis. Jingold is already available in major Spanish retail chains, offering a full range of premium yellow, red, and green pulp varieties to meet diverse consumer needs and boost the category at the point of sale. These products will soon be accessible in large retail stores across Iberia:

  • Exotic Red: Europe's leading red-fleshed kiwi, which is known for its dark flesh, striking visual appeal, intense sweetness, aromatic complexity, and an exotic note that delivers a unique taste experience.
  • Jingold Bliss: An exclusive green-fleshed kiwi variety (Boerica) is renowned for its high sugar level, compact flesh, and elongated, elegant shape, which meet the strictest aesthetic standards.

Having these varieties available on Spanish shelves will strengthen Jingold's standing as a global leader in innovation, varietal specialization, and maintaining consistent quality throughout the marketing year.

The beginning of locally produced Jintao kiwis marks the initial step in Jingold's broader development plan, which aims to establish an integrated, sustainable, and short Iberian supply chain. This choice aligns with a trend already prevalent in Spanish large-scale retail: promoting local origin and ensuring that products are fresh and traceable for consumers.

Having all production in the northern hemisphere operate simultaneously enables Jingold to broaden the sales window and ensure a steady supply throughout the sales period, providing retailers with a consistent, high-quality range.
