Redland has secured exclusive marketing rights for Dorì gold kiwifruit grown in Australia through a new agreement with Dori Australia. The program currently involves six growers, five in Western Australia and one in Victoria, with 63 hectares planted, and plans to expand to 150 hectares by 2030.
Dorì is the commercial brand for the actinidia variety AC 1536, developed at the University of Udine and the University of Bologna in Italy. According to Redland's Head of Sales & Marketing, Jordan Bain, the variety matures in February and produces yellow-fleshed fruit. Its harvest window coincides with a period when no other gold kiwifruit is typically available on the Australian market.

Redland states that the variety may provide retailers with an option to cover the early-season gap before other gold kiwifruit varieties enter the market. The company said the fruit is grown by Australian growers using modern horticultural systems and that the supply program will expand gradually as plantings mature.
The company noted that the agreement provides retailers with access to a domestic supply source supported by a long-term planting plan. The crop is expected to increase toward 150 hectares by 2030, and the company plans to support the program with brand development activities.
Redland said the Dorì variety offers an early and locally grown option that is not matched by imported gold kiwifruit during the same period. It referenced flavour characteristics and appearance as drivers of repeat purchasing and outlined expectations of category growth. The company said the program will be supported by its quality control systems, packing operations, and ongoing investment in production and technology.
Redland stated that it continues to work on producing and marketing premium fruit brands and is investing in quality, innovation, staffing, and sustainability across its horticultural operations.
