"We have gone through a period with limited availability of all types of cherry tomatoes, as is usual in October," says Ellen van Kester of Horticola Guadalfeo from Motril, Spain. "The situation is now gradually returning to normal. There is currently more availability in the coastal area. Production in the mountains, where most tomatoes come from in summer, has practically ended."

"This summer, cherry tomato production in the mountains was normal, while the production of larger tomato types was low due to the very high temperatures. Special varieties such as Marazul and Cherokee are still scarce, as most harvests have not yet started," Ellen continued. Guadalfeo's production this season will be about the same as last year.
