In France, Fresh Del Monte has just launched BOB, a friendly and interactive robot designed to energize the supermarket's fruit and vegetable section.
This activation is currently live at Intermarché Gif-sur-Yvette, featuring a dynamic and engaging setup that includes premium exotic fruit displays, a tasting stand with a dedicated promoter, UHD screens showcasing Del Monte farms, and BOB Robotics Del Monte, a gentle robot that interacts with shoppers and promotes a contest to win a trip to Dubai, in celebration of Zootopia 2, the latest release from The Walt Disney Company.
"This initiative demonstrates that innovation in the fresh produce aisle is not only possible but also could be impactful," the company says in a release. BOB has been specially trained to move throughout the store, from the fresh produce section to the entrance and all the way to the checkout area. Depending on its location and activity, BOB communicates different messages: whether it's moving, stopping, or interacting with someone. It encourages shoppers to pause and pick up a bunch of bananas or a pineapple from its cart to take part in the contest.

The activation is proving to be a great success, appreciated by the client, store visitors, and the general public alike. The goal is to expand this activity in other European countries.
