Chile forecasts it will export 131 million boxes of cherries this season

The Chilean Fruit Cherry Committee estimates that exports for the 2025-2026 season will total 131 million boxes, based on a survey of its members conducted from October 10 to 17.

This estimate remains nearly unchanged from the April projection and is marginally higher than last season's volume, which was approximately 125 million boxes. The Committee emphasizes that, while small adjustments might occur as the harvest and logistics develop, this is the only official estimate they will provide for the season.

Claudia Soler, the executive director of the Committee, noted that "this figure is an early snapshot of the season. There could be small adjustments, but our expectation remains for a similar volume to last year. The focus is on getting things right, prioritizing quality, compliance, and marketing support."

Chile accounts for 96% of southern hemisphere cherry exports. The Committee promotes campaigns in China to enhance the Chilean fruit's image, build consumer preference, and coordinate with importers, distributors, and retail chains.

At the same time, the union seeks to diversify markets by promoting the consumption of Chilean cherries in the United States, Korea, Thailand, Brazil, and other destinations.
