Brazil has secured new agricultural export access to Iran, with sanitary authorities approving imports of zucchini and watermelon seeds, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) confirmed on Tuesday, 14 October.
According to Luis Rua, Secretary of Trade and International Relations (SCRI), the approval represents part of Brazil's broader strategy to diversify agricultural exports amid changing global trade dynamics. He noted that the country has intensified efforts to expand market access following U.S. tariff measures, which have had a limited impact on overall agribusiness exports.
Rua emphasized that market diversification, including new openings such as the Iranian seed market, helps maintain export stability and supports long-term sector resilience.
