The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) and the General Administration of Customs of China have signed a draft protocol on inspection, quarantine, and sanitary requirements for hazelnuts and almonds exported from Azerbaijan to China.
According to AQTA, the signing took place during the agency's delegation visit to China as part of the One Belt, One Road initiative. The agreement will enable the export of Azerbaijani-grown hazelnuts and almonds to the Chinese market.
During the visit, both parties also signed a draft document establishing a mechanism for cooperation in the field of food safety during import and export operations.
In addition, the meeting covered discussions on expanding export opportunities for other Azerbaijani products, including cherries, apples, persimmons, and pomegranates.
