Brazilian apple output achieved 850 thousand tons for the 2024/25 season, surpassing the prior year, as reported by the Brazilian Apple Growers Association (ABPM). This uptick is linked to conducive weather, with lower rainfall benefiting orchard development. The enhancement was tempered by issues from the 2023/24 period, when heavy rainfall and high Glomerella occurrence impeded flower bud growth.
Current season apple attributes centered on superior fruit quality, enhanced flavor, and larger sizes due to decreased rainfall impacting critical growth stages. These changes promoted sugar accumulation and elevated texture.
The 2024/25 season displayed a rebound in both yield and apple tree quality.
