Wholesale fruit and vegetable prices UK - week 25:

Asparagus up 28%, blackberries down 21%

Recent wholesale price data in pounds per kilogram highlights notable shifts for several fresh produce items compared to the previous week. Bramley's Seedling apples recorded a price increase, with the average rising from £1.32 to £1.42, representing an 8% weekly gain.

In contrast, blackberries saw a significant decline in average price. The current week's average stands at £9.70, down from £12.21, which reflects a decrease of £2.51 or 21%.

Raspberries also experienced a reduction in price. The average dropped from £12.90 the previous week to £11.10, equating to a £1.80 decline and a 14% drop.

Meanwhile, asparagus registered a strong price increase. The average rose from £11.39 to £14.58, showing a gain of £3.19, or 28%, making it the sharpest rise among the listed commodities for the week.
