UK distribution deal renewed for spinach and beetroot

Tozer and KWS Vegetables Netherlands B.V. have renewed their exclusive distribution contract in the UK for spinach, chard, French beans, and beetroot. Originally established with Pop Vriend Seeds, which KWS acquired in 2019, the agreement ensures Tozer's role as the exclusive marketer of these genetics in the region's fresh market sector.

Under the renewed contract, Tozer will promote the existing spinach and chard varieties, alongside the established French bean range. Tozer will also market KWS's beetroot program based on the company's sugar beet breeding foundation. The varieties will be independently trialed in the UK to meet the standards of growers and retailers.

"We are really pleased to have signed this agreement, it means that the close cooperation we built with Pop Vriend Seeds over 30 years is valued and can become even stronger with KWS," noted Steve Winterbottom, Managing Director at Tozer. "We see in KWS Vegetables a company that is dedicated to shaping the future of sustainable agriculture."

René van Meijel from KWS emphasized, "We have our boots on the ground in all strategic markets, and this partnership with Tozer is fundamental in delivering advanced solutions that meet the evolving needs of the UK market."

This collaboration secures Tozer's position in the UK market and facilitates the introduction of new varieties to meet future industry needs.
