With a double acquisition in the fruit and vegetable industry, Fruit Management Europe (FME) and Chefs Fruit Products (CFP) have a new owner. Ad van Gool has fully transferred both companies to Erwin Boorsma. Erwin already held a minority share in both businesses, but as of February 21, 2025, he will take on the role of CEO, with the ambition to continue the healthy growth of FME and CFP.

Ad van Gool founded FME in 1999 as a consultancy firm for the fruit processing industry. With his unparalleled product knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset, he grew the company into a major player in the European fruit import and export market. Along the way, he had the opportunity to acquire the Belgian company CFP, adding the artisanal production of fruit purées, candied fruits, and sauces to the portfolio. With retirement on the horizon, Ad felt the time was right to hand over the reins. In 2022, he brought in experienced fruit specialist and entrepreneur Erwin Boorsma to help guide the company forward. Over the past few years, they have worked closely together to prepare both businesses for this transition.
Ad: "I am passing on the company—my baby, in a way—to Erwin with complete confidence. I've come to know him as a highly driven entrepreneur and manager, and I truly believe that both companies are in excellent hands with him."
Erwin: "We've made sure that Ad's expertise is well preserved, and I'm incredibly excited to take the next steps in growing the company with our fantastic team. We have an unmatched range of top-quality fruits, vegetables, and herbs, available on demand. On top of that, FME has extensive knowledge in processing our products and developing custom recipes. My goal is to build on this strong foundation and enhance it with cutting-edge digital solutions, like the recently implemented
Odoo ERP system. I can't wait to get started!"
