In May, the OJSC "Greenhouse Complex Bereście" will complete the modernization of greenhouse facilities covering four hectares of protected ground as part of the implementation of the State Program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025. Upon completion of the import substitution project, the complex will be able to supply consumers with up to 2500 tons of winter vegetables.
Alexander Radkovets, the director of OJSC "GC Bereście," stated that in the current season, they aim to produce 11,000 tons of vegetables.
Facing stiff competition with Russian counterparts, where energy sources are much cheaper, and competing with private producers, they strive to find their place in the competitive arena. Despite challenges, they see prospects. They anticipate a successful operation for the winter turnover of 2024-2025.
