Musang King durian price surge in Vietnam

In Vietnam, the Musang King durian has seen a significant price increase, with costs reaching approximately VND400,000 ($16.10) per kilogram as the harvest season commences. In the Mekong Delta, the price range for premium quality durians spans from VND380,000 to VND430,000.

This marks a substantial recovery following a notable price decline in October. According to one trader, the season's onset has been met with a limited supply amidst strong export demand. "The highest quality fruits are set to ripen in the coming weeks and many customers look forward to buying them," he stated. Another trader highlighted the international interest in Vietnam's Musang King durian, with demand from markets including Russia, the US, Germany, and Dubai. The decrease in supply has been attributed to some farmers ceasing production due to unproductive yields and adverse weather conditions.
