"Regina di Puglia” 23-26 July, 2023

Italy’s Puglia region to host table grape season launch events

The "Regina di Puglia" project, promoted by the Municipality of Noicattaro to showcase table grapes and the territory of Apulia's production district, is gaining significant support as the event date approaches.

The event, scheduled from the 23 to 26 July, consists of a series of initiatives that will shine a spotlight on the primary European production base of a fruit that is also the second most important item in Italian horticultural exports.

A product of such significance is situated in a region rich in historical, cultural, and natural attractions. It is on this potential-rich connection that "Regina di Puglia" is based.

The signal, originating from Noicattaro and Mayor Raimondo Innamorato, the municipal council, and particularly the councilors for Agriculture, Vito Fraschini, and Territorial Development, Germana Pignatelli, has reached a network of municipalities that also consider table grapes a strategic asset for their economy, as well as the regional institutions. The response has been positive.

The Puglia Region has decided to support the event, and an official agreement was signed with the Metropolitan City of Bari to provide support. Within a few days, there will be confirmation of the Apulia municipalities attending the conference on July 26 to add their signature to a Collaboration Pact among the municipalities for the enhancement of table grapes and their territory - a network that, as emphasized by Mayor Innamorato, is capable of "interacting with higher institutional levels" as well.

The conference on July 26, which will also be attended by ISMEA, CUT, APEO, and Apulia PGI Table Grapes, will conclude with the expected remarks from the Regional Minister of Agriculture, Donato Pentassuglia, marking the first edition of an event that, in the preceding days starting from the evening of Sunday the 23rd, will bring about not only tastings, entertainment, and shows in the charming setting of the traditional festival of Madonna del Carmine but also company visits and B2B meetings with Italian and foreign buyers, journalists, and bloggers.

Of particular economic importance are the business meetings scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, where Apulia table grape companies will be present alongside buyers from Italy, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, and Lithuania.

The entire program will be covered by major industry publications, not only in Italy but also by newspapers, TV, local press, and selected bloggers.

In addition to institutional support, "Regina di Puglia" has received contributions from Gold Sponsors Generazione Vincente and OP Pignataro, as well as Silver Sponsors OP Meridia and Industrie Tecnologiche.
