According to data from the Inform@cción consultancy firm, from May 2022 to April 2023, Peruvian fresh ginger exports increased by +11.7%, totaling 58,100 tons.
According to Fernando Cilloniz Benavides, the president of Inform@cción, in the first 8 months of the 2022/2023 campaign (May-December), the country's fresh ginger exports declined. However, the largest shipments recorded in the last four months (January-April) would allow the campaign to be completed in a positive way.
Exports peaked in the month of March when Peru exported 7,673,914 kilos, he added.
The main destination markets for the Peruvian fresh ginger are the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom, among other markets.
