Volume of tahiti limes exported by Brazil this year was lower than last year

The supply of tahiti lime was high in the market of São Paulo State in early 2023, which drove prices down. However, availability has been fading since mid-March, allowing prices to rise – farmers have even reported some profitability.

Between April 1st and 13th, the average price for tahiti lime closed at BRL 24.57 per 27-kg box (harvested), 19.5% higher than that from Mar/23 and 56.7% above that in Apr/22, in nominal terms. Between April 6-13, the average closed at BRL 24.92/box (harvested), 2.89% up from that in the previous week. For the fruits allocated to exports, prices have been higher, at BRL 31.59/box, on average, between April 6-13.

The volume of tahiti lime exported by Brazil this year has been lower than that shipped last year. According to Secex, between January and March, Brazil exported 34.3 thousand tons, 7% less than that in the same period last year. Revenue totaled USD 27.8 million, 12% down, in the same comparison.
