According to a monthly survey from US Apple, the total number of apples in storage on April 1, 2023 was 71.3 million bushels, 5.5 percent less than last April’s total of 75.5 million bushels and 7.2 percent less the 5-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this April totaled 50.2 million bushels, 5.7 percent less than the inventories reported for last April. Processing holdings totaled 21.1 million bushels, 5.1 percent less than last year on April 1.

This report captures more than 95 percent of the national storage capacity. The US Apple Association thanks all the participants and welcomes suggestions and comments about how to improve it.
