Caxias is the largest producer of fruit and vegetables in Rio Grande do Sul

Production from Caxias do Sul will be celebrated from this Friday at the  Festa das Colheitas. The main fruit, featured in this festival continues to have the largest cultivated area in the municipality. The table grape is grown on 448 hectares and adds up to around 7,000 tons. The volume is an average based on data from the 2017 Agricultural Census.

Persimmon are grown there as well. Stone fruits and strawberries are other species with good harvests. Tomatoes lead with almost 15 million kilos, on average.
