Fiji: Fresh produce exporter reopens facility after big refurbishment

Nadi-based fresh produce exporter and commercial farmer Daljit Singh Grewal has re-opened his refurbished export facility. According to the G Group (Fiji) Pte Ltd managing director, the upgraded facility now includes a extended packhouse, a Biosecurity of Fiji (BAF) inspection area, an office, loading and unloading area plus living quarters for workers.

Mr Grewal said he would be exporting around 4.5 tons of turmeric this week to the United States: “We now have 15 to 20 staff in our export facility working on a daily basis, however, we need skilled staff who can train and guide the laborers from farm operations to packing and grading. We have also put in advertisements in the local dailies for skilled staff’s but we are yet to find a suitable one.”
