In February, the poncã tangerine harvest started in the state of São Paulo, but the supply intensified only in mid-March. Now, the commercialization of the variety is approaching the end there. According to Cepea employees, the last fruits from São Paulo should be harvested by the end of July, with the local supply slowing down in the second half of the month.
In August, there should still be tangerines from Minas Gerais on the market, which may restrict the fruit's appreciation in SP. Both in SP and MG, the production of poncã tangerine was well distributed over the months, without large concentrations of production. However, given the country's economic restrictions and the drop in temperatures in May and June, consumption was not leveraged this year.
