The price of high-quality fruit reaches 11 yuan/kg

Early mandarins picked and listed, and the market has a good start

"Early mandarins are on the market, and some orchards have started picking and selling the fruit. The price is about 5 yuan/kg. The fruit merchants have no requirements for taste, only that the size should be large. The early mandarins grown in greenhouses mature earlier and have begun to change color. The price of high-quality fruit is about 11 yuan/kg," Ms. Chen, a grower in Yuxi, Yunnan, said.

Yuxi, Yunnan, at high altitude, has no severe coldness in winter. The spring comes early here, and the temperature rises quickly. Due to the special local climate, citrus blooms early and the fruit grows quickly. In addition, the Miyamoto special early Wenzhou mandarin is planted, and the fruit matures earlier than in most producing areas.

It is now late June, and the second physiological fruit drop period of the late citrus has just ended. Even before that, the early mandarin in the early producing areas had begun to be marketed.

From May to June, there are few citruses on the market. The summer orange is the main fruit on the market at this stage, but the planting area of this fruit is not large.

Therefore, the picking of late varieties is delayed, and some orchards will not start to sell until May to June. While the early varieties are planted in early production areas, and they will be picked and marketed in June. In this way, there are fresh citruses all year round, avoiding the peak sales period, and the price is also good.

In recent years, everyone has generally paid attention to the Shatang mandarin and Wo orange, and the development of late varieties is relatively fast. It is recognized that Shatang mandarins with good taste have had relatively low prices during the peak period in the past three or four years. The price of oranges is not high even though they have a good taste, nor is it that the price is high when the taste is the best. Only when the amount is limited, do prices rise.

The development of extra-early mandarins is relatively slow, and it has developed very little in recent years. Therefore, the current volume of extra-early mandarins is not very large. The price is reasonable, while its management is not difficult and the costs are low.

When it comes to the early Wenzhou mandarin that was listed in June, many people feel that they are sour. But the price has been good for a period of time in the past few years. It also gets lower during the peak market period (August-September).
