Self-taught entrepreneur José Roberto Nogueira is, at this moment, developing what will be a great and an unprecedented hybrid solar energy and fruit growing project, mobilizing hundreds of small producers from Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte.
It is an idea that combines the most modern technology of fruit growing and the generation of photovoltaic solar energy with the desire to produce in the communities of the Ceará and Potiguar hinterlands (Pereiro is located on the border between Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte).
The Brisanet Group's fruit-growing project foresees the installation of 1,000 Roças Solares modules, which – according to the pilot already underway in Pereiro – will each be 60 meters long, 6 wide and 5 meters high, constituting a type of protected crop that will allow, for example, the planting of blueberries or strawberries, as well as tropical fruits.
Solar panels will be installed on the roof of this structure, which, in addition to producing electricity, will have gutters to collect rainwater, which will be stored in large plastic cisterns. It will be this water that, through remote control, will guarantee the irrigation, by drip, of the fruit trees that will be planted and cultivated under the solar panels.
