Nobis presented a report to domestic and foreign investors on the progress made in the cultivation of blueberries thanks to the first "Investment fund in the Ecuadorian horticultural export sector".
In the first stage, 10 hectares were planted in the canton of Patate. The first crop will be marketed in the coming months. The meeting was attended by managers of Sembrador Capital and Fideval, two investment funds active in the Chilean and Ecuadorian markets. The meeting was chaired by José Antonio Ponce, CEO of Nobis. He was assisted by the team of the Agro-export Business Unit of the holding company.

The competitive advantages of the growing area, as well as the condition of the crops and the progress made, were the main topics addressed. Entrepreneurs and investors showed great interest and provided valuable feedback. After the harvest, the fruit is first expected to be marketed locally, and exports to the United States, Asia and Europe will follow.

The blueberry varieties used offer uniformly good quality, high yields, large calibers and a sweet and sour taste. "There are great opportunities for Investment in the agro-export sector in Ecuador, because the land is fertile, the climate is favorable, the geographical location is perfect for many profitable crops and there is a good supply of qualified labor for this type of economic activity," said José Antonio Ponce.

Horticulture has attracted the interest of private and institutional investors. "A good job has been done. The Nobis team has managed to understand the ideas and the process very well and the results are already visible," said José Fernández, managing director of Sembrador Capital.
Nobis announced that this is the first of several investment vehicles intended to attract large capitals to guarantee investment and boost the national economy.
