René Bouman, FMI, the Netherlands

“Lime market recovering thanks to increasing demand”

In many European countries, the hospitality sector is being allowed to gradually reopen. "A boost for the lime market," says René Bouman of FMI in the Netherlands. "The lime market's improving. Summer weather and the southern European holiday season lie ahead. So, demand for limes is increasing, and prices are picking up."

“Brazil's loaded many limes in recent weeks. It's currently peak lime season there. But, it's not rained in Brazil for several weeks. If that doesn't change soon, it could affect export volumes. Mexico will soon start exporting limes to Europe too."

Lemons
“We're expecting the first containers of Argentinian lemons to be loaded this week. Those are our Royal Fresh brand from our regular supplier. We're optimistically anticipating the summer months. That's assuming that the COVID-19 measures are further relaxed. We're also busy promoting our new webshop. Feel free to visit it," concludes René.
