Blédina flies to the rescue of the Williams pear

With the “Save Williams” project, the French company Blédina specialized in baby food, wants to support the Williams pear sector which is currently struggling, by helping producers replant Williams pear trees in collaboration with several partners, including the participative financing platform Miimosa.

The company relies on local productions for its small jars of baby compote. “Our volumes have been decreasing for 5 years,” claims Pierre-Marie Brizou, purchasing manager at Blédina.

In Loire-sur-Rhône on the 16th of March, Bledina representatives met with arboriculturist Grégoire Cote, who chose to plant 3,200 new trees as part of a 15-year contract signed with Blédina, involving the Sicoly cooperative and ensuring the sale of all his pears.
