Spanish company opens new facilities in northern Ecuador

The company Mira Fruits, born of the merger of Ecolijar-Group & Sherry Quality, both Spanish companies devoted to the import, export and distribution of conventional, gourmet and organic fresh tropical and exotic fruits, has opened new facilities for the reception, sorting and packaging of fruits and other products in Mira, in northern Ecuador.

"Our experience is based on the hundreds of fruit export and import operations that we have carried out for more than 20 years in countries such as Senegal, Mali, Morocco, China, Russia and the United States," said Lorenzo Villa, general manager of Mira Fruits.

“This project is based on cooperation between small and medium-sized local producers. Thanks to Mira's geographical location and its diverse climatic zones, it will be possible, for example, to have a permanent production of excellent quality avocados, allowing us to stand out from other producing countries," said Villa.

Mira Fruits has suitable reception and packaging facilities, as well as cold rooms to preserve the products' freshness at all times. The sorting and calibrating machinery is cutting edge and has the capacity to pack between 2 and 3 20-ton containers daily.
