Purchases remain weak

Ginger prices in China continuously falling

Currently, there is limited ginger stock left with farmers in various production areas, so the supply is significantly lower than that of the previous period. However, there are already small volumes for ginger being traded in Shandong. It is expected the volumes are unlikely to improve significantly if prices don’t increase notably this week. Export processing companies have good demand and a limited supply left, but it is currently difficult to find supplies, and prices of good quality supplies are high.

Due to the overall lack of stock, it is expected that the increases in supply will be limited this week. There are currently volumes being traded in Shandong, and the supply is expected to increase this week, but as the gap in the consumer market is not large, the prices this week are more likely to remain on the lower side.
