Frutas Esther and Citri & Co create one of the world's largest fruit groups

The investment firm Miura Private Equity is behind the creation of an agro-food fund of 350 million Euros and with a turnover of close to 500 million, which will be incorporated into the shareholding of the Murcian company Frutas Esther, specialized in the production and marketing of stone fruit, table grapes and strawberries. Together with the companies Citri & Co, Martinavarro, Rio Tinto and Perales & Ferrer, they will form one of the largest fruit groups in the world.

Also, Frutas Esther has completed the sale of a stake to the Citri & Co agricultural group. To close this agreement, the company has received advice in legal and fiscal matters from a Garrigues team specialized in the agro-business sector, and in financial matters from the consultant EY.

The operation will allow the company based in AbarĂ¡n to maintain its autonomy, jobs and production processes.

Miura's partner, Jordi Alegre, stressed that the new stage that is opening with the alliance with Frutas Esther is "an exciting one," creating one of the largest vertically integrated fruit groups in the world, with nearly 500 million in turnover and with a European leadership in the citrus and stone fruit sector; the two categories in which Spain is the leading exporter worldwide.
