Mango exports from Pakistan face problems with freshness

News from the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers, and Merchants Association shows that the mango exports from Pakistan to China reached a new high this year.

Chinese Economy Online explained that the growing mango export from Pakistan is due to currency devaluation, a strict implementation of international standards, and various promotional activities abroad. Chinese Economy Online organized the Pakistan Beijing Mango Festival with importers and exporters at the embassy of Pakistan in Beijing.

The flavor of mangoes from Pakistan is very popular with Chinese consumers. Some Chinese consumers call the mangoes from Pakistan "the most delicious mangoes in the world". However, the export of mangoes from Pakistan to China is limited by the difficulty of keeping mangoes fresh during transport. This means that the mango price is relatively high. About 60%-70% of the mangoes exported from Pakistan are freighted by sea. This is not a problem for traditional markets in Arab countries or in some European countries, but transport to potential markets in China, Korea, Japan, and the USA takes longer and requires a new solution.

Mangoes from Southeast Asia have a competitive advantage over the mangoes from Pakistan because transport is quicker and the price is lower.
