Peter Maes, Zeghers:

"We are happy the Argentinian lemon season is coming to an end"

Importer Peter Maes of Zeghers is happy that the Argentinian lemon season is almost over. "The quality has been quite bad all season and the supply very irregular. The demand and sales prices also weren't great. We expect the first Spanish lemons in a month and are looking forward to this."

"Stone fruit, one the other hand, was sold a lot more smoothly. The quality of Spanish stone fruit is good and the prices are at a normal level. The stone fruit season is also coming to an end and when it's done we will start with the first Spanish clementines and mandarins. At the moment there are still a lot of overseas mandarins from South Africa and South America on the market at the moment, but due to the large supply unfortunately the prices are quite low," concludes Peter.
