China and Cambodia organize conference for the first export of Cambodian bananas to China

The Cambodian and Chinese Chambers of Commerce joined the China Certification and Inspection Company (CCIC) in the organization of a conference on April 19th, 2019. The occasion for this conference was the approval that Cambodian companies received from the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) for the shipment of Cambodian bananas from registered banana plantations and packaging factories to the Chinese market. The conference also celebrated the first shipment of Cambodian bananas to China.

The standard requirements for quarantine inspection and packaging were announced during the conference. Participants discussed such matters as quarantine, inspection, certification, packaging, loading, customs declaration, and transport. There was also a festive ceremony for the preparation of the first shipment of Cambodian bananas to China. The aim of this conference as to disseminate the requirements for Cambodian banana transport to China and gather feedback. After improvements, the results will be presented to the Cambodian ambassador in China and the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.
