Banana price in Chinese production areas begins to rise again

The price of bananas in production areas in Yunnan, Myanmar, and Laos was quite weak in the first half of last week, and the price is still slightly falling in some areas, but in the second half of last week the price began to rise again in many banana production areas in Yunnan and Laos. Banana productions areas in Guangdong and Guangxi are not currently among the main suppliers and price fluctuation in these areas is relatively small.

Visiting traders show more enthusiasm as consumer demand grows and transport costs are falling. This eases the pressure on banana prices in production areas, even though some areas still suffer from a shortage of labor. This, however, does not seem to affect the banana price.

It is worth noting that the supply volume from the southwest entered a small peak period when bananas from Myanmar entered the market in bulk.
