Orsero inaugurates a new plant for producing ready-to-eat fruits

Orsero S.p.A. is a leading company in the import and distribution of fresh produce within  Mediterranean Europe. On the 23rd of January, the company inaugurated a new plant in Molfetta devoted to the processing of ready-to-eat products. Different political authorities participated in the inauguration: Tommaso Minervini (Mayor of Molfetta), Angelantonio Angarano (Mayor of Bisceglie), Tommaso Depalma (Mayor of Giovinazzo), local and Group's spokespersons.

The new plant has been realised in 4 weeks and it occupies 1.000 sqm. It is provided with the latest technology for cutting fruits thus achieving the best qualitative, hygienic and safety standards while keeping a traditional production philosophy with utter respect for produce's organoleptic properties.

Our goal is to improve the production capacity and supply all the Southern Italy areas to the best we can. Additionally, depending on the seasonal peaks, we expect to add 10-50 labourers to support the improved production capacity.

The plant in Molfetta is the second one devoted to the production of ready-to-eat products, and it is part of a broader development plan which envisages the opening of other two plants over the course of 2019. Every Orsero's plant is equipped with the latest and most innovative technologies in terms of hygiene and food safety.

Orsero is the first brand producing the high-quality fresh cut. The company uses Extra Premium fruits exclusively, and each of them is carefully selected and hand-processed every morning, in Italy. These are excellent products characterised by an incredible taste, freshness and healthiness.

Raffaele Orsero is the CEO of Orsero S.p.A., and he stated, "The new plant represents a meaningful achievement for Orsero. This perfectly fits in the Group's marketing development plan which wants to open plants producing fresh cuts in strategic areas that allow a faster and more complex distribution throughout Italy while keeping intact the quality of the products, at the same time.

Tommaso Minervini, the Mayor of Molfetta, claimed, "This is a very important day for our territory. We are happy that Orsero decided to invest in our community thus giving us more job opportunities and promoting our city. The opening of the new plant is warmly welcomed by all of us living here - considering that we are in the middle of an economic and territorial revitalisation of the city".

Orsero is a leading company in the import and distribution of fresh produce within the Meditteranean Europe. Orsero Group was born 50 years ago thanks to the Orsero family who was active in the horticultural sector since the '40s. Over time, Orsero Group expanded both in terms of activities carried out and acreage, to the point that today it is active in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Costa Rica and Colombia, but of course also in terms of marketing, according to a vertical integration c.d. model.

In Italy, the Group counts more than 1.000 employees and 9 warehouses located in Milan, Verona, Florence, Rome, Bari, Porto San Giorgio, Cagliari and Ispica.
