Honduras is Central America's second biggest exporter of vegetables

In the first six months of 2018 Honduran vegetable exports amounted to about 35 million dollars. The national production is only surpassed by Guatemala, which managed to export 38 million dollars.

Costa Rica ranks third with exports worth 17 million dollars. Nicaragua exported 6 million, Panama 3 million, and El Salvador 2 million dollars.

In the first semester of 2018, the United States was the region's main buyer of vegetables, accounting for 69 percent of the value exported from Central America. It was followed by the United Kingdom, with 9 percent, the Netherlands with 7 percent, and France with 3 percent.
