Business-to-business online platform

E-Ecuador launches at Food Matters

Ecuador has presented e-Ecuador, a business to business online platform at Food Matters 2018 in London, through its promotional arm for exports and investment, PRO ECUADOR.

International buyers can register at this online marketplace and access more than 1000 Ecuadorian suppliers of products and fresh produce made in Ecuador, from fish to roses. Some call it ‘the Ecuadorian Alibaba’.

While the tool has been operational worldwide for a couple of months, this is the official European launch. "In Latin America," UK Trade Commissioner Juan Carlos Yepez explains, "Ecuador is the only country that has created its own online platform."

"ProEcuador created e-Ecuador to address the need for faster and more transparent digital ways to meet the needs of buyers and accelerate trade. It’s a response to the trend of doing trade online and going digital. We will keep doing physical trade shows and trade missions while also now giving our suppliers the chance to use this platform."

Food Matters at London’s ExCel Centre was chosen as the venue for the launch because this fair is all about innovation and trends in the food industry, so an ideal launching pad for the new tool. Here buyers can try it out for themselves; registering, then using the tablets for the first time at the fair.
