New module 'REDpulse' to be presented at the upcoming Interpoma

''Proportion of Class 1 grade apples increased by pneumatic defoliation''

The guarantee of an optimal and even exposure becomes more and more important - especially with modern, red-coated apple varieties. German supplier Fruit Tec GmbH has set itself the goal to enable higher light and temperature incidence, guaranteeing optimal coloration of the pome fruit. For this purpose, the REDpulse defoliation module was developed. It will be presented at the upcoming fruit fair Interpoma Bolzano 2018.

Before application

After application; more light comes through

Defoliation module
REDpulse is a novel, encapsulated and purely pneumatic defoliation module for removing leaves. One of the main hallmarks is the pulsing airflow on the leaves or leafy parts. This creates an increased incidence of light and temperature, resulting in uniform coloration and fruit ripeness. 'The proportion of Class 1 fruit is increased and picking is streamlined,'' says the Fruit Tec GmbH management.

As the fruit becomes more visible, this should also make harvesting easier. The workflow will be improved, and travel times are shortened overall.

User-friendly controls
With REDpulse, the fruit does not come into contact with any rotating parts that could cause fruit damage. Any protruding fruits are gently pushed out of the way.'' Control is simple and convenient, using a joystick and a display. REDpulse is particularly energy efficient," it goes on to say.

Innovative in fruit growing
For more than 10 years, the Fruit-Tec Adolf Betz company in the Deggenhausertal has been specializing in the production and sale of the DARWIN. The company is currently settling in the Fritz Ziegler Areal to have more space for the production of the Edward cutting machine EDWARD.
