Marijn Kruidenier, Fruta Royal Holland:

“Early start with Brazilian limes in the Netherlands”

Last week, the first Brazilian limes arrived at Fruta Royal Holland. “We’re the only one in Western and Northern Europe to carry this brand. We’ll receive one container per week until the end of the year, and next year we’ll continue with two containers per week,” says Marijn Kruidenier.

“We had an early start with the Brazilian limes. The market for limes isn’t too positive, but I expect that when the Mexican season finishes by the end of the year, the market will recover. Prices at levels between 4.50 and 5 euro are therefore still a bit disappointing now,” Marijn continues.

Fruta Royal Holland is currently mostly working on the import from Brazil, and besides limes, they also receive Kent and Tommy Atkins mangoes from this country. The importer sells the mangoes and limes to various markets within Europe.
