In August 2025, DLG reached a special milestone: Its 100th anniversary. The highlight of this celebration took place on 31 October, when the company organised a special customer and supplier evening for its relations. It was a moment to look back together on a century of growth, cooperation, and innovation. The celebration weekend continued with a family day and staff party, where history and future came together.

From horse and cart to international player
What began with Adrianus Visbeen and his sons grew into a family business connecting the fresh produce sector and beyond. In the early years, the first shipments were still carried by horse and cart, and later by a Ford Model T. After the 1953 flood disaster and the opening of the Haringvliet Bridge in 1963, the company gained momentum: transport from the island became easier, enabling deliveries throughout Europe and the UK. This period also laid the foundation for long-term partnerships with Westland growers and exporters, making Visbeen a trusted name in the fresh produce industry – an expertise that remains central today.

Strategic growth and international recognition
The first transport to the UK followed in 1967, a move that opened new growth opportunities. In 1998, DailyFresh Logistics was established as a joint venture between Visbeen, Post-Kogeko, and Norfolkline. This was a turning point: with efficient cross-docking in Poeldijk and smart logistics solutions, the transport of fresh produce to the UK was optimised. The success did not go unnoticed: in 1999, the company received the prestigious Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise, recognising innovation and entrepreneurship. This milestone was followed by another important step: The merger between Visbeen, Post-Kogeko, and DailyFresh, forming DLG. This collaboration combined expertise and capacity, growing the company into a leading logistics service provider in Europe.

Fourth generation
Today, DLG is led by Nicole and Joost Jr Visbeen. The company continues to invest in digitalisation, sustainability, and expanding its facilities. Times change, but DLG remains true to the same values and the family feeling that has been its foundation for a century.

Nicole Visbeen emphasises, "Our core values – Together, Cleaner, Smarter – form the basis of everything we do. As a family business, we cherish the family feeling, both within our team and in our relationships with our partners. Our passion for the fresh produce sector remains, but we are more than that: a logistics service provider that thinks, connects, and looks ahead. We are grateful for the wonderful relationships that we have had with you on this journey for so long, including many partners who have worked with us for decades. The fact that so many relations were present at this special moment and that we received so many warm congratulations is the icing on the cake."
