Freshcare has marked its 25th year with a series of governance updates, including the appointment of a new board director and revised committee roles. The organisation confirmed changes across its board and advisory structures as part of an ongoing governance cycle.
Freshcare has appointed Kara-Glenn Worth to the board. Worth has a background in digital agriculture innovation, including work linking emerging technology with agricultural applications. She has previously contributed to industry committees focused on sustainability and workforce development and has worked with James Cook University on digital tools for producers.
Andrew Redman has been named deputy chairperson. Redman joined the board in 2023 and has more than two decades of experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on technical, safety, and sustainability roles. In his current industry position, he oversees programs connected to food safety, quality, and sustainability, and serves on the Fresh Produce Safety Centre board.

Jane Lovell will chair the Technical Steering Committee. Lovell, a board member since 2023, has more than 30 years of involvement in horticulture and agriculture, including senior roles with producer organisations, regulatory bodies, and industry programs covering quality assurance, research, and policy.
Carrie Starkings has joined the Finance, Risk, Audit, and Compliance Committee. Starkings, who joined the board in 2024, is the CEO of Summerfruit Australia and has experience in commercial strategy, supply chain management, and horticulture markets across multiple regions, including Europe, Africa, China, the United States, and Australia.
Freshcare also confirmed the continued tenure of Liz Riley and Dominique Doyle, whose sector experience supports the organisation's governance functions.
The organisation acknowledged the contribution of outgoing deputy chairperson and long-serving director Allan Dall. Dall joined the board in 2012 and has held roles including chair and deputy chair. His involvement has included work on the Finance, Risk, Audit, and Compliance Committee, as well as earlier industry roles connected to quality assurance adoption and vertically integrated production systems.
Freshcare stated that the updated board structure will support its ongoing work with horticulture, supply chain, viticulture, and wine industry stakeholders.
