US: Kroger and Uber expand partnership
Uber Technologies, Inc. and The Kroger Co. announced plans to expand their existing partnership, allowing customers to order groceries and restaurant meals through an integrated platform that combines Kroger's retail network with Uber Eats' delivery service. France: Groupe Casino sees growth in net sales in third quarter
French retailer Groupe Casino reported an increase in net sales in the third quarter, maintaining the growth momentum seen in previous quarters. Net sales increased 0.5% on a like-for-like basis, to €2.0bln, during the quarter, with convenience brands reporting 1.1% growth. Consolidated net sales in the first nine months to end September amounted to €6.1bln, reflecting growth of 0.6% on a like-for-like basis. Groupe Casino will also expand its 'Renouveau' plan to 2030 and launch measures to consolidate its financial structure. The Monoprix banner posted like-for-like net sales growth of 0.6% in the third quarter, with customer traffic up 0.3%. Groupe Casino attributed this growth to food sales, underpinned by a good performance in fresh products (up 2.1%), particularly fruit and vegetables.

Finland: Supermarket, retail giant Kesko sees profits rise
One of Finland's biggest retail groups, Kesko, announced a 3.5% increase in profits in the third quarter, compared to the same period last year. The company said that its comparable operating profit reached just over 208mln euros in Q3, while it pulled in around 202mln euros during the same period in 2024. The firm reported positive growth across all of its divisions. The group's net sales amounted to 3.2bln euros, which also reflected growth over Q3 of last year (€3.02bln).
