Open days in Italy to showcase new spinach and chard varieties

The first edition of the PopUp Italy 2025 open days will take place on 11 and 12 November at Azienda Agricola Altamura in Pontecagnano Faiano, Salerno. The event, organised by KWS Vegetables Italy in collaboration with distributor Cora Seeds, will focus on innovation in leafy vegetable production and connect growers with partners from across the fresh produce value chain.

The open days will highlight new spinach and chard varieties, along with production technologies and agronomic concepts such as Spinach365, Initio, BiteSize, and MildewProtect. Field demonstrations will take place in the Battipaglia area, a key region for Italian leafy crop cultivation.

Cora Seeds will also present a range of rucola and baby lettuce varieties. The organisers describe the event as an opportunity for growers, distributors, and industry partners to exchange knowledge, explore new solutions, and discuss trends influencing European fresh produce markets.

Two themed sessions are planned: the "Value Chain Day" on Tuesday, 11 November, and the "Agronomy Day" on Wednesday, 12 November. These sessions will include presentations from experts covering topics such as market trends, genetics, and cultivation practices.
