The white turnip, fennel, carrot, and lettuce trade is showing extremely positive signs, and the current weather conditions are favouring a smooth production. "Our forecasts are optimistic," reports Antimo Filetti from L'Ortolana.
"These vegetables are mainly destined to be exported, with around 70% of production sent to Germany, followed by the Netherlands, Belgium, and Austria. In particular, lettuce is shipped exclusively to Austria and Germany, keeping the focus on the markets where demand is highest. These products are distributed through two main sales channels: suppliers in the H&R sector (hotels, restaurants, catering) and retailers in wholesale markets. This diversification allows us to meet the needs of a varied clientele."

The marketing calendar varies: white turnips, fennel, and carrots are available from the end of October until May, while lettuce is on the market from 20 November until the end of March. Packages and formats are diversified to meet the logistical needs of the various customers. In a scenario that keeps expanding, these products are strategic and consolidated elements within the company's production assortment.
"These products not only guarantee continuity of production and a constant presence in foreign markets, but are also fundamental for maintaining established business relationships and exploring new opportunities," says Filetti.

Key objectives include acquiring new customers in markets that are already active, and opening up new sales channels by increasingly focusing on service quality and commercial expansion in Europe.
Among the company's flagship products, radishes play a crucial role, especially due to the strong demand from the German market. Their production and sales calendar runs from the beginning of November to the beginning of April. "Radishes are mainly supplied to Germany and Austria. Although we do not currently produce defoliated radishes in flowpacks, we are working on introducing this in response to an ever-changing market."

In terms of quality and sustainability, the company has embarked on a path towards farming practices that respect the environment and consumer health. "In addition to following integrated pest management cultivation, we are working to align ourselves with the growing demands of European consumers, who are increasingly attentive to the sustainability of the production process," Filetti concludes.
