Yuksel Seeds and Lakeshore Veggie Growers Inc. (LVG) have signed an exclusivity agreement for the Sweetloom F1 tomato variety. The agreement was formalized during Fruit Attraction Madrid 2025 and aims to expand the availability of the variety across North America.
Sweetloom F1, developed by Yuksel Seeds, has received international recognition through the Fresh Market Award 2025 and the International Taste Award 2025. The variety is characterized by firm fruit, extended shelf life, and resistance to ToBRFV, a key trait supporting secure production.

Based in Leamington, Ontario, LVG is a family-run greenhouse business known for growing heirloom-type tomatoes. The company will oversee quality control and packaging for Sweetloom F1, ensuring a consistent year-round supply through high-tech greenhouse operations in Canada and the United States. The collaboration also involves cooperation with greenhouse marketing and distribution companies serving major North American retailers.
"This agreement with LVG is a big step for Yuksel Seeds to enter into the premium retail space in the USA and Canada," said Hicham Abba, Head of Marketing and Area Sales Manager for the Americas, Western Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Yuksel Seeds. LVG CEO Jay Collasanti said, "From the beginning, I believed in the power of Sweetloom. It is a very nice tomato, with a great flavor and excellent quality."
According to Yuksel Seeds, the partnership will aim to strengthen market access for Sweetloom F1 and encourage collaboration among growers, marketers, and retailers in the region. "It is great to see grower-marketers embrace our Sweetloom approach, not only from a genetics perspective but also from a retail marketing standpoint," said Nico Van Vlient, Downstream Integration Lead at Yuksel Seeds.
