AGF Monitor compares weekly price trends of various fruits and vegetables found online. The prices are monitored by Supermarktscanner.nl. The price survey takes place at the end of each week.
Cucumber
© Supermarktscanner.nl The cucumber price at Albert Heijn has returned to its previous level of €0.85 each. There are no other notable developments to report in week 41. The average price stands at €0.82.
Broccoli

The lower broccoli price continues in week 41. With an offer from DekaMarkt (from €1.09 to €0.79) and slight reductions from national supermarkets Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and Plus (from €1.09 to €1.05), the average price of broccoli remains just below €1.00.
Bluecurrants
© Supermarktscanner.nl There is once again considerable movement in blueberry prices. Dirk and Plus have lowered their prices. Plus now offers the lowest price at €3.49 per 300 grams, followed by Dirk at €3.69. Jumbo, on the other hand, has increased its price significantly: after a week 40 promotion (from €3.89 to €3.49), the price has now rebounded to €4.49, which is also the current price at Albert Heijn. Hoogvliet has also returned to its previous level of €4.39.
Mango

There are a few changes in mango prices, except that the two-week promotion at Albert Heijn has ended. The price per piece is back to €1.99. The average price comes to €1.90.
Strawberries

Albert Heijn, Plus, and Dirk offered them at the lowest price of €2.99 per 400 grams, noting that strawberries had been missing from Dirk's online shelves since week 37. Jumbo's promotion was slightly less aggressive, pricing them at €3.49 for the same quantity. The average price is €3.44.
Vine tomatoes

Apart from a Dirk promotion (from €0.89 to €0.79 per 500 grams), the price of vine tomatoes remains stable in week 41.
Price and quality
The price data come from Supermarktscanner and are based on online prices from the webshops of Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Plus, DekaMarkt, Dirk, and Hoogvliet. The price shown is an average, including promotions. This price comparison does not take into account origin or quality, as most supermarkets do not mention these details on their websites. Hoogvliet and Jumbo do list the country of origin. It is therefore possible that the comparison above includes unripe avocados versus ripe ones, or Spanish cucumbers versus Dutch ones.
Notes on the data
Vomar uses fixed online prices. Avocado has been missing from the online range since 2022, and since week 24, Galia melons have also been absent. Hoogvliet and Vomar hand oranges are sold in 1.5 kg packs, and prices are converted to 2 kg for comparison. Jumbo only sells packaged vine tomatoes in five pieces instead of per 500 grams or per kilo; for comparison purposes, each tomato is calculated as weighing 100 grams.
