Peppers lead Spanish fruit and vegetable exports in terms of revenue

In the 2024/2025 season, peppers have consolidated their position as the horticultural product that generates the most export revenue, according to a report drawn up by Hortoinfo based on data from Spain's Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency).

Between August 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025, the value of Spanish fruit and vegetable exports reached an impressive 21,237.82 million euros, with a total of 13,455.85 million kilos marketed abroad and an average price of 1.58 euros per kilo.

Peppers topped the ranking with 1,761.56 million euros in turnover generated from the sale of 818.82 million kilos at an average price of 2.15 euros per kilo. Oranges followed with 1,254.72 million euros and 1,306.54 million kilos exported at an average price of 0.96 euros per kilo.

Peaches came in third place, with exports worth 1,171.12 million euros and 677.28 million kilos marketed at 1.73 euros per kilo. The fourth place was for cucumbers, with 1,089.54 million euros and 785.16 million kilos exported (1.39 €/kg). Tomatoes closed the top five with 1,082.91 million euros, 604.67 million kilos, and an average price of 1.79 euros per kilo.

In terms of destinations, Germany remained the biggest buyer of Spanish fruit and vegetables, with 3,669.46 million kilos imported for 6,050.27 million euros (1.65 €/kg).

France ranked second with 2,419.46 million kilos worth 3,517.42 million euros (1.45 €/kg), while the United Kingdom ended in third place, with 1,367.82 million kilos and 2,339.74 million euros (1.71 €/kg).

The fourth most important market was Portugal, with 1,034.84 million kilos exported worth 1,099.46 million euros (1.06 €/kg), followed by the Netherlands, which closed the top five with 930.1 million kilos and 1,530.54 million euros (1.65 €/kg).
