Andalucía recorded fruit and vegetable exports worth more than €5 billion (US$5.4 billion) between January and June 2025, the highest first-half value since comparable data became available in 1995. Year-on-year growth reached 11.6%, above the Spanish average of 9.5%. The region accounted for 41% of Spain's total fruit and vegetable exports, 16.7% more than Valencia (24.4%) and 23.8% more than Murcia (17.3%).
Fruit and vegetables represented 23.7% of total Andalusian exports in this period and 55% of agri-food exports, generating a trade surplus of €4 billion (US$4.34 billion).
Peppers led exports with €745 million (US$808 million), 14.7% of the total and a 20.8% increase. Strawberries followed with €657 million (US$712 million), up 8.9%, and blueberries and other Vaccinium fruits reached €500 million (US$542 million), up 24.9%. Tomatoes ranked fourth with €495 million (US$537 million), increasing 4.4%. Cucumbers and gherkins recorded €465 million (US$504 million), up 22.1%. Raspberries, blackberries, and mulberries totalled €305 million (US$331 million), down 1.4%. Avocados reached €243 million (US$264 million), up 16.3%. Pumpkins and courgettes followed with €238 million (US$258 million), down 0.6%. Watermelons recorded €198 million (US$215 million), up 21.2%, and oranges €112 million (US$121 million), up 11.3%.
By province, Almeria led with exports valued at €2.518 billion (US$2.76 billion), representing half of Andalucía's total and growing 15.5% compared to the same period in 2024. Huelva followed with €1.4 billion (US$1.53 billion), up 12.7%. Malaga exported €311 million (US$341 million), up 16.1%, while Sevilla reached €294 million (US$322 million), down 11%. Granada added €271 million (US$298 million), up 3.6%. Cadiz reported €132 million (US$145 million), down 5.2%, and Cordoba €108 million (US$118 million), up 26.8%. Jaen exported €6.4 million (US$7 million), down 11%.
Andalucian exports reached 87 countries, though 99% were within Europe. Germany was the top destination with €1.598 billion (US$1.75 billion), followed by France with €712 million (US$771 million) and the Netherlands with €587 million (US$635 million). The UK imported €539 million (US$583 million), down 0.8%. Portugal increased purchases by 26.1% to €227 million (US$246 million), while Italy reached €220 million (US$238 million), up 6.1%. Poland imported €206 million (US$223 million), up 14.8%. Switzerland grew 34% to €157 million (US$170 million), Belgium increased 3.2% to €124 million (US$134 million), and Austria rose 26.9% to €122 million (US$132 million). Other markets showing growth included Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Croatia.
