"Every season brings its own challenges and surprises," says Elena Rogojnikova of The Greenery about the avocado market. "This year we saw extremely low prices for Hass avocados, mainly due to the large volumes delivered by Peru. Thanks to the so-called 'on year', so many avocados entered the market that prices in May and June were historically low." The situation with Greenskins was different. "That market remained more stable," Elena explains. "From South Africa came good quality, and during the Ryan season, we even saw a spike in both volume and price."
Meanwhile, the first Israeli avocados have arrived. "Last weekend, we received the first Galil from our partner Galilee. The quality was excellent: Firm fruit with an excellent internal structure. This season we expect mainly smaller sizes in Galil, from 14 to 24."

With that, the Israeli season has really started. "In week 38, the Ettinger avocados will follow, known for their good oil content. Pinkerton will come at the end of October, shortly after that, the Arad. Pinkerton will remain available until March. For Hass from Israel, the season starts in week 41, although it will initially mainly feature smaller sizes. From week 48, the range broadens, and from January, we will be able to offer larger volumes."
According to Elena, Israeli volumes this year will be similar to last season. "We do see a shift: there will be slightly less plain Hass, about five percent less, but more Greenskins—about ten percent more—and also clear growth in Lamb Hass, GEM Hass and Pinkerton."
Smaller crop in Morocco
On the situation in other countries, Elena is clear. "In Morocco, we expect a sharp decline of around 40 percent for 2025/2026. This is due to bad weather conditions, including a heatwave in June that caused a lot of damage to orchards. A smaller harvest is likely to mean higher prices, simply because less product will be available."
For Spain, the outlook is more positive. "There, avocado production continues to grow. In Chile, on the other hand, we see a normalisation. After the exceptionally high harvest in 2025 compared to the past 15 years, Chilean Hass avocados are expected to return to more normal volumes."
Elena concludes with a sober perspective: "The market is dynamic and each region has its own rhythm. It is up to us to follow through and always offer our customers the best and most reliable products. That is where the strength of The Greenery/Hagé lies."
