According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Bac Ninh continues to maintain the country's largest lychee-growing area at 29,700 hectares. Of this, 17,317 hectares are certified under VietGAP standards, an increase of 1,577 hectares from 2024; 173 hectares are certified under GlobalGAP, up 91 hectares; and an organic lychee model is maintained in Chu ward.
At the start of the season, local authorities increased planting area codes and packaging facilities to comply with export requirements. As a result, lychee output reached record levels. Early-harvest volumes totaled 75,300 tons, up 27,700 tons year-on-year, while the main crop produced 130,100 tons, an increase of 92,000 tons.
Fruit grown under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards was sold domestically at VND 25,000–35,000 (US$1.00–1.40) per kilogram. Export prices ranged from VND 220,000–550,000 (US$8.70–21.60) per kilogram in markets including Japan, the U.S., Canada, Australia, several EU countries, and the Middle East.
A major development in 2025 was increased access to high-standard markets. Bac Ninh lychees are now available in retail chains and wholesale markets such as Safeway, Albertsons, and Costco in the U.S. and Canada; Selgros and Dong Xuan Market in Germany; Sapa Market in the Czech Republic; and Rungis International Market in France. "This achievement is a crucial foundation for building a fully integrated supply chain from high-quality lychee production to distribution in demanding global markets," a representative from the provincial Department of Industry and Trade stated.
Bac Ninh exported about 78,200 tons of lychees this season. China accounted for 77,200 tons, or 98.8% of exports, while other markets received 1,000 tons.
Domestic consumption reached 127,200 tons, equal to nearly 62% of total production. Sales occurred through traditional markets and supermarkets, as well as digital channels including livestream sales on TikTok, Facebook, and Zalo. These platforms supported farmer access to e-commerce.
Total revenue from lychees and related services was VND 6.245 trillion (US$246 million). Of this, VND 3.719 trillion (US$146 million) came from lychee sales, while auxiliary services such as honey production and tourism generated VND 2.526 trillion (US$99 million).
