The Belarusian government has introduced a system to distribute import quotas for certain agricultural products from Iran, according to a resolution adopted on August 16.
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) has been tasked with deciding, by November 30, which companies will receive the right to import these goods. The quota list covers potatoes, tomatoes, several types of cabbage, carrots, turnips, cucumbers, and apples of Iranian origin.
Applications from importers will be reviewed in order of submission within 15 calendar days. Requests can be rejected if the documents are inaccurate or if the quota has already been filled.
The results will be published on MART's official website. Companies that receive quotas will be granted special licenses allowing them to import under preferential customs conditions.
The State Customs Committee will ensure that goods brought in under these quotas are cleared smoothly for domestic use.
