The Import Promotion Desk (IPD) has announced Brazil as its new partner country for Fruit Attraction, to be held from 30 September to 2 October in Madrid. More than 30 producers from Egypt, Brazil, Côte d'Ivoire, Ecuador, Kenya, Colombia, Morocco, and Peru will participate, showcasing a range of fresh fruit and vegetables at Hall 12 Stand D11. Seven Brazilian companies will attend in person, offering buyers the chance to discuss product range, cultivation methods, quality management, logistics, and delivery conditions.

Mangoes from Brazil and Egypt
Brazilian exporters will present mango varieties, including Palmer, Tommy Atkins, Kent, and Keitt, with two companies based in the São Francisco Valley in the northeast, an area known for calcium-rich soils. Mango producers from Egypt will also be at the IPD stand, supplying varieties such as Keitt, Naomi, R2E2, and Crimson.
Grapes, lychees, limes, and yams
Brazilian grape producers in the IPD programme will offer cultivars including Sugar Crisp, Cherry Crush, Sweet Celebration, and Autumn Crisp. These complement grape offerings from Ecuador and Egypt. For the first time, a Brazilian company will present lychees within the IPD portfolio, with plans to expand its range to eight varieties.

Lime producers from Brazil and Colombia will be present. Demand for limes remains high amid reduced supply linked to citrus greening disease. One Brazilian company operates in Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia, areas unaffected by the disease. Colombian suppliers also continue to supply limes and explore new trade links.
A Brazilian company will also present Dioscorea alata yams, cleaned of fine hairs and sorted by size to appeal to export markets, resembling sweet potatoes in taste and appearance.
Event announcement
As part of Fruit Attraction, "Global Women Fresh" will hold its first Global Network Panel on 1 October at 5:25 pm in Fruit Forum Nucleo 1-3. The session will bring together women leaders to discuss market trends, global cooperation, and women's empowerment. Speakers include Priscilla Nasrallah from IPD partner company Lina Frutas in Brazil. The IPD is a supporting partner of the event.
